The ZiS-12 was a Soviet truck from the interwar period and World War II. It reached a maximum speed of 70 km / h and was able to carry a load of 3.5 tons. Most of this car was powered by a 73 HP engine.
Design work on the ZiS-12 began in 1933 or 1934 based on the chassis and many components of the successful ZiS-5 truck. In essence, it was a modernization of this car, and the main change concerned the elongation of the vehicle, and thus increasing the transport capacity. Interestingly, however, it was decided to keep the two-axis system, similar to the ZiS-5. Design work proceeded relatively quickly and the new car entered production as early as 1934, which lasted until 1938. Approximately 4,200 cars of this type were produced in its course. During the service, the ZiS-12 was used as a platform for various types of weapons or instruments, e.g. anti-aircraft guns or Z-15-14 aircraft searchlights. ZiS-12 trucks were used on a large scale during World War II.
