DISCONTINUED Orlik A011 Solaris Urbino 18 Hybrid

The Solaris Urbino series are Polish, low-floor city buses. The first models in the series were created in 1999, and their production started in the same year and is still going on. It is concentrated at the Solaris Bus and Coach SA factory in Bolechowo near Poznań.

The Solaris Urbino series was developed as the successor to the Neoplan bus series and in the first production series it used many components of its predecessors, such as the engines in the so-called tower buildings. Initially, the Urbino series was also powered by MAN engines, later they were replaced by designs by DAF and Cummins. Buses with hybrid and electric drive were also successfully introduced into production. Four generations of the Urbino series and many models appeared in the course of serial production. These include the Urbino 12 bus, 12 meters long, and Urbino 18, 18 meters long. Buses from the Solaris Urbino series have been a huge export success, and the Urbino 12 Electric Bus of the Year 2017 title is an expression of recognition for their quality.
