The T-100 is a Soviet prototype heavy tank from the interwar period and World War II. The drive was provided by a single V GAM-34-BT carburetor engine with a capacity of 890 HP. The prototypes of the vehicle were created in 1939 - the car never entered mass production. Only two of its copies were made. The armament consisted of one 76.2 mm L-10 or L-11 cannon, one 45 mm 1932 gun and three 7.62 mm DT machineguns.
The T-100 was developed at Factory no. 185 as a potential successor to the T-35, a new heavy tank for the Red Army. From the very beginning, it was assumed that the tank would be multi-turreted, and the emphasis was also on the thickest possible armor, which eventually reached 60 mm. After the prototype was created, the tank was tested during the Winter War with Finland (1939-1940). In the course of these fights, the armor of the car proved its quality, as it was completely immune to Finnish anti-tank weapons. The tank, however, caused considerable problems in the command and management of the crew, as well as in using the full potential of the main armament. It was also less mechanically refined than its competitor - the KW-1 tank. Finally, the production of the T-100 tanks was discontinued. After the end of World War II, they were sold for scrap.
