It is worth remembering that each of the US Navy pilots is a naval officer, and his training - especially a fighter pilot - is very long, expensive and demanding. This training is divided into several stages and includes, among others: initial flight training conducted on the T-6B Texan II aircraft and advanced flight training conducted on the T-45C Goshawk jet.

Each of them is able to take on board up to 90 aircraft, and the Flight Deck Crew is responsible for their activities on the aircraft carriers, whose tasks are the same on each carrier. In order to facilitate activities, its members wear vests of different colors, corresponding to the specific tasks of the crew members. In total, 8 colors of vests are worn, and the soldiers wearing them are responsible, among others, for: yellow (catapult service, air deck and hangar traffic), green (landing aid, aircraft wing control, helicopter landing operation service), white (medical aid , but also e.g. handling liquid oxygen containers) or red (handling bombs and rockets, hanging them under planes, fire service).
